The New Year!

Well here we are 2009! WOW. I was able to enjoy a wonderful visit with my parent's for the New Year. Mike and I always love when family visits and if we get a holiday mixed in even better. Of course we had rain so it didn't lead to us venturing out to explore. We mastered Monopoly though and Mike is addicted to the puzzle we started! In fact I had to walk away from the thing just now because the sky was making me crazy. We went down to Salem (the capital of Oregon) for my Dad to see. It's very beautiful and I learned a few facts about Oregon....
State Animal=American Beaver
State Insect=Butterfly Oregon Swallowtail
State Flower=Oregon Grape
State Tree= Douglas Fir(big surprise since we have unlimited supply of these everywhere!)
State Bird=Western Meadowlark
I was able to make my parent's pose for me in about 2 spots and than I feel like I was avoided the rest of the time if my camera was out! So here are the pics of our little Salem, Oregon capital building visit.

This is the actual capital building...it looks like some Mayan Temple to me but oh well, this is Oregon!

Than I gave the camera to my Dad and he took this of us! Good Job Paps!
